CelticTables is an independent guide to casino games for players in Ireland. We explain how slots, live dealer tables, roulette and blackjack actually work — the maths, the house edge and the rule variations — so you can pick a game with your eyes open rather than chase a headline.
Why this site exists
Most casino content aimed at Ireland is about offers. Very little of it is about the games themselves, and what exists is usually a house-edge figure copied from another site years ago without anyone checking which rule set it described.
That matters more than it sounds. A blackjack table paying 6:5 instead of 3:2 roughly quadruples the house edge on an otherwise identical game. An American wheel with two zeros costs you nearly twice what a European one does on the same bet. These are the decisions that quietly determine what a session costs, and almost nobody writing for this market explains them.
So this site is game-first. We would rather explain one game properly than list forty casinos with nothing behind the listing.
The editorial team
CelticTables is written and checked by a small editorial team with experience across online gambling, game mathematics and consumer publishing. We publish under the site's name rather than invented personal bylines, because the checks behind a page are a process rather than one person's opinion, and a stock author photograph tells you nothing about whether a figure was verified.
What we will tell you is exactly where each number came from. That is set out step by step on our methodology page, including what we do when a casino publishes nothing.
How the site makes money
We earn affiliate commission when a reader opens an account through one of our links, at no cost to the reader. That funding pays for the research, and it is disclosed in the footer of every page.
It does not buy a position. Commission rates differ between operators and if we ordered the list by what it pays, the order would be different from the one published. We do not sell ranking positions, we do not accept payment for favourable wording, and a casino that fails one of our disqualifying checks comes off the site regardless of its commercial terms. What we cover, and what we do not
We cover the games: how slots are built and what volatility and hit rate actually mean, how live dealer studios run their tables, the wheel types and bet payouts in roulette, and the rule variations that move the house edge in blackjack. Alongside each guide we list the casinos serving Ireland that carry those games, with what their lobbies actually show.
What we do not do is dress up a play session as a test of a game's return — a few hundred spins measures variance, not a long-run percentage. We do not publish payout times we have not measured, we do not restate an operator's claim as though we had verified it, and we do not run user ratings, which are trivially gameable and say more about who had an incentive to fill them in than about the casino.
We also publish no strategy that promises to beat a negative-expectation game. Betting systems do not work, and the roulette guide explains in detail why the popular ones cannot.
Corrections and contact
If a figure here does not match what you were shown — a different rule set at the table, a return that is not the one stated, a lobby that no longer carries what we described — tell us and we will re-check it. The same applies if a casino on this site has refused or stalled a legitimate withdrawal; a withheld payout removes an operator outright.

Our position on gambling
Every game described on this site is built so that the operator wins over time. That is not a flaw we are exposing, it is how the industry works — but it does mean gambling is entertainment with a cost rather than a way to make money, and no amount of strategy changes the direction of the maths. The best a good decision can do is make the cost smaller.
